uPVC Casement Doors Explained
A casement door is hinged at the side and swings on heavy-duty hinges rated for the leaf weight. It is the type most houses need most often: front entrance, back door to the utility yard, bedroom door onto a balcony, office cabin door.
The frame is a deeper section than a window, reinforced with galvanised steel through both frame and leaf, because a door takes daily loading a window never sees. Locking is multi-point — the handle drives bolts into the frame at the top, centre and bottom.
Glazing is up to you: fully glazed for a garden view, half-panel for a balcony door, or a solid panel with a small vision light for a utility entrance. Obscured glass is the usual choice where the door faces a passage.

Yes, when the frame and leaf are steel reinforced and the lock is multi-point, which is how we build them. The bolts engage the frame at three points, so forcing the leaf means defeating the whole frame rather than a single latch.
Can a uPVC casement door take a fully glazed panel?
Yes — full glass, half panel or a solid panel with a vision light. For a fully glazed entrance we recommend toughened glass as standard.
Do uPVC doors swell or stick in the monsoon?
No. uPVC does not absorb moisture, so unlike timber it does not swell, stick or drop out of square in the rains.
