uPVC Folding Doors Explained
A bi-folding door is a run of narrow leaves hinged to each other, riding on a top track. Push them and they fold like a concertina and stack against the jamb, leaving something no other door type can: a genuinely open wall.
Three, four, five or six panels are typical, and the stack can go left, right or split both ways. Because the weight hangs from a reinforced top track, the floor track stays low and flush enough to walk over without a trip step.
Folding doors suit party halls, verandas, restaurants and any living room that opens onto a lawn used for functions. Toughened glass is standard on every panel, and one leaf can be configured as a traffic door for everyday use so you are not folding the whole run to step outside.

What customers ask us on site about this door type, answered without sales talk.
Call +91 70947 02370How many panels can a uPVC folding door have?
Three to six is normal, covering spans from about 2.5m to 6m. Beyond that we split the stack to both sides or couple two runs with a structural post.
Is a folding door practical for everyday use?
Yes, if you specify a traffic-door leaf — one panel hinged conventionally so you can step through without folding the whole run. Most customers use the traffic leaf daily and open the full span for functions.
Is there a trip step at the bottom?
The weight is carried by the top track, so the floor guide is low profile and close to flush. We set the threshold with the finished floor level during measurement.
Are folding doors more expensive than sliding doors?
Yes — more leaves, more hinges and a load-bearing top track. They are quoted per square foot with the running gear itemised, so you can compare directly against a slider.
