uPVC Casement Windows Explained
A casement window is hinged at the side and opens outward on friction stays, so the sash presses against the gasket all the way round when you close it. That single fact is why casements out-perform sliders on air leakage, rain resistance and noise — there is no track for weather to travel along.
Because the whole sash swings clear, you also get the full opening for ventilation and an uninterrupted view: no central track post, no overlapping panes. For bedrooms, living rooms and any wall where the view matters, this is the type we recommend first.
Casements accept the widest range of glass, including 24mm double-glazed units for soundproofing, and take multi-point locking that engages at three points on the frame. Fly mesh can be fitted on the inside face without affecting the seal.

For sealing, noise and ventilation, yes — the sash compresses onto the gasket on all four sides, and the whole opening clears when it swings. Sliding windows win where the sash cannot project outward, such as over a passage or narrow balcony.
How much do uPVC casement windows cost in Perambalur?

Do casement windows leak during heavy rain?
Correctly fitted, no. The frame carries drainage channels that take water back out, and the EPDM gasket seals the sash on all four sides. Most leaks we are called to fix are aluminium sliders or badly sealed masonry, not casement sashes.
Can I fit mosquito mesh on a uPVC casement window?
Yes. A separate mesh frame fits on the inside face, so you can open the sash and keep insects out. It does not interfere with the sash gasket or the locking.
